Dragon Villas is committed to ensuring digital and physical accessibility for all our guests. We are continuously improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

We have worked to ensure our website is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We aim to comply with WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. To achieve this, we have:
 

  • Clear Structure: Defined a clear heading hierarchy on all pages for easy navigation.

  • Alt Text: Added alternative text to all images of our suites and amenities.

  • Contrast: Implemented color combinations that meet required contrast standards for readability.

  • Keyboard Navigation: Ensured the site's content order is logical for screen readers and keyboard users.

  • Language: Set the site language to English for automatic translation tools.

Physical accessibility arrangements in the organisation

Dragon Villas is a beautiful, historic Victorian property. While we celebrate its heritage, its period architecture presents certain physical limitations.
 

  • Entry: Access to the main villa is via a set of stone steps from the sidewalk. There is no ramp or lift access to the main entrance.

  • Stairs: As a protected period building, there is no elevator on-site. Access to all floors is via the original internal staircase.

  • Suite Locations: * Ground Floor: The Garden Suite and Royal Suite. These are our most accessible units, though they still require navigating the external entry steps.

    • Basement: The Harlow Suite is accessed via one flight of internal stairs.

    • Upper Floors: All other studios are located on the first and second floors, requiring one to two flights of stairs.

  • Assistance Dogs: We are a dog-friendly property and fully welcome trained assistance dogs in all our suites.
